The needle is a rocky obelisk about 40 meters high, which is separated from the main wall by a two-meter crack. Until 1894, when a road was built above the Savinja River, the only footpath led through it from Luč to Solčava along the Savinja Gorge, which is the narrowest here. At the Needle, we can also find the Leaking Well. Its action is no longer as pronounced as it used to be, and in heavy rains it can even flood the road. The needle and the well are natural monuments. Beyond the Savinja River, we can climb to the Brown Cave.
Legend has it that there lived in the valley a girl from Ajdov, so big that she stood with one foot on Raduha and with the other on Veža. One day, when she was sewing a shirt, a needle broke in the rough linen. She became angry and threw her into the valley, where she stuck herself in the bank and remained there to this day.
