The collections display a rich ethnological tradition, rocks and fossils, photographs and religious objects. In the former bishop's mansion, there is a religious collection (there is also a colonon, a rare booklet of spells) and a collection of postcards and old photographs of Gornji Grad.
In Štekl, the largest defensive tower of the former walls, there is a gallery of works of art on the ground floor, and an extremely rich ethnological collection on the first floor and in the attic. The museum is open on weekends from April to September, but at any time, by appointment.
