The upper course of the Savinja River, with all its crystal clear tributaries and the rivers Lučnica and Ljubnica, is a true paradise for lovers of fly fishing and nature. These waters are faithfully managed by the Ljubno Fishing Family, which takes care of maintaining the natural balance and the rich fish life.
The Ljubno Fishing Club manages the Upper Savinja Fishing District, which covers the upper course of the Savinja River to Grušovlje, including all tributaries and rivers Lučnica and Ljubnica. The most common fish in these waters are brown trout, rainbow trout, grayling, and gull.
The headquarters of the fishing family is in the Fisherman's Lodge by the fly pond, where fishing is possible as early as from March 1 . There you can rent fishing equipment and buy fishing licenses for the Savinja River or the pond where you can fish for rainbow trout, grayling and trout: it is allowed to catch and release.

The fishing area of the upper course of the Savinja is divided into three districts and an additional capital district. In two districts, grayling and rainbow trout can be fished, while in the remaining districts (and for other fish species) the catch-and-release rule applies.
Warnings
Fishing in the districts of the upper course of the Savinja is allowed From 1 April to 31 October . Exclusive fly fishing is allowed, with only one artificial fly tied to a single hook: dry fly, nymph or drawbar (exception: the use of a drawstring is not allowed in a fly pond!).
It is mandatory to use a hook without a hook or with a compressed hook. Screwing is not allowed. Fishing from a boat or bridges is also not allowed.
Fishing is only allowed in the selected area – passing between the districts during the fishing day is not allowed!
