Gavge or gallows are the only preserved device of this kind in Slovenia. In the forest below Hom near Radmir, there is a round walled space with three six-meter-high towers, which are connected by a log cabin for hanging. No one was really hanged on the gavga – their main purpose was supposedly to intimidate the diocese of Ljubljana, which once had the right to blood justice in these parts.
