The monastery library , open to the public, dates back to 1752, when the commissioner Ludvik Umek donated all his books with the intention of obliging the monastery fathers to celebrate Mass for his soul.

Over the centuries, the collection has been supplemented with both religious and historical, geographical, legal and medical books, as well as lexicons and dictionaries. The most important place is represented by bibles: they keep as many as two copies of Dalmatin's Bible from 1584 and Trubar's translation of the Gospels.

Around the monastery hill there is also the Monastery Hill Natural History and Cultural Educational Trail (with the starting point and finish at the nearby Vrbovec Castle). On the way, we discover the history of the place, the castle and the monastery, and above all we learn about the importance of the forest. Interactive learning path >>
