Logar is considered one of the most beautiful Alpine valleys. Between the more than 2000-meter-high peaks of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, a 7-kilometer-long glacial valley was formed in the last ice age, which is divided into three parts: Log<\/strong> and Plest<\/strong> are covered with meadows, and Kot<\/strong> is overgrown with forest, behind which the Rinka waterfall murmurs. <\/p>\n\n

A lot of rare or endangered mountain flowers grow in the valley, especially in the botanical oasis of Okre\u0161elj<\/strong>. Mountain eagles and peregrine falcons fly across the valley, chamois and ibex graze on the higher slopes, and sheep of the Jezersko-Sol\u010dava breed on the mountains.The main attraction of the valley is over 20 waterfalls<\/strong>, among them: - Rinka<\/strong> with 90 meters, one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in Slovenia,- Palenk<\/strong> in the gorge of the same name, which is a popular point for wedding vows,- Rastov\u0161ki waterfall<\/strong>, which leaps over several 10-meter rocks with petrified remains and- Four Den Falls<\/strong>, which together overcome as much as 125 meters in height.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

The source of the \u010crna<\/strong> River, which at the end of the valley merges with the Jezera River into the Savinja River, is one of the most mysterious parts of the valley with its reflections. It is black at the source due to its penetration through dark sedimentary clays of black color.Three trees<\/strong> mark the Logar Valley. Along the road at the beginning of the valley grows the Logar linden tree<\/strong> with a circumference of almost 5 meters, and a few kilometers higher the Plesnik elm<\/strong> with a circumference of 370 centimeters. The third giant is a larch on Klemen\u010da Cave<\/strong>, between 200 and 300 years old. Wooden granaries<\/strong> or castes<\/strong> are part of the heritage of the Sol\u010dava and Upper Savinja Valleys. They stored foodstuffs, especially cereals, and in some places they are still used today. In the Logar Valley you can see three: at the entrance to the valley, at the Logar farm or the one in which the TIC Logar Valley operates.Logar's cottage (majerija) in Logar Corner, built of spruce trees, has preserved its original image from 1930. Today, it operates as the Logarski Kot Mountain Farm,<\/strong> where homemade food and products from Sol\u010dava farms are available. <\/p>\n\n

For motor vehicles, the entrance<\/strong> fee to the valley applies, for all others (including electric vehicles!) admission is free.<\/p>\n\n

The fairytale forest<\/strong><\/a> at the Pension Na Razcestju in the middle of the Logar Valley will be a reward for the youngest<\/strong>. It presents the most beautiful world and Slovenian fairy tales, as well as Slovenian and Sol\u010dava folk tales, and there is a spacious children's and sports playground at the entrance. <\/p>\n\n
